Pravinth an Associate Member of CIMA and an ACCA Affiliate has been a CIMA tutor for over eight years and is the most sought after Finance lecturer for CIMA in Sri Lanka. He specializes in the Financial Management pillar subjects and to date has produced numerous Sri Lankan and world prize winners for almost all the different financial management pillar subjects including Financial Strategy. A CIMA world prize winner himself (World Prize for Management Accounting Fundamentals and 2nd in the world for Economics for Business at CIMA Foundation level, as well as Sri Lankan prize for Business Strategy) was one of the few finalists in the CIMA Tutor of the year contest conducted by CIMA UK in 2006. Pravinth was also voted as the "Best Lecturer" for Financial Analysis (P8) by the Sri Lankan students in a survey conducted by CIMA Sri Lanka division in 2005.

His popularity amongst students and success thus far led him to being selected by the CIMA Sri Lanka division to conduct revision as well as "Train The Trainer" (TTT) programmes in countries such as Hong Kong, India, and Pakistan. Pravinth is a frequent visiting lecturer at Christ University Bangalore, India, where he conducts lectures for CIMA Students at the Certificate and Managerial Level

Over the last 5 years Pravinth has been the forefront in lecturing at Imperial College and is regarded by many students as one of the best and most knowledgeable lecturers for CIMA tutoring in Sri Lanka. He lectures at all levels of CIMA and is dedicated to achieving the highest pass rates with students groups. His focus is on achieving success for all students he teaches. Pravinth's professional career began at Imperial College in 2003, where he was greatly involved with the CIMA Operation. In 2006, in acknowledgement of his contribution to CIMA education, the Board of Directors at Imperial College appointed him as the Director, Academic Affairs besides being the Head of the CIMA programme. In a short span on time, this talented young individual has played a pivotal role in making Imperial College the success it sees today.

 

Mario counts over fourteen years of experience in preparing students for CIMA examinations. He has successfully conducted lectures for both Business Strategy (P6), and TOPCIMA (P10) papers in Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Singapore since 2003. He boasts of having coached the only World Prize Winner in the whole of Asia for the Strategic Management Accounting & Marketing paper (now Business Strategy). Besides this Mario has produced numerous country subject prize winners for both papers P6 and P10 in all the different countries he has lectured thus far.

He is a Fellow member of both CIMA, UK and the Society of Certified Management Accountants (FSCMA) in Sri Lanka, and also holds a Postgraduate Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK). Mario, earned his MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, (which is undoubtedly the most sought after business school in Sri Lanka) where he not only earned a "Merit" pass, but also managed to top his batch.

Mario counts over fifteen years of corporate experience in areas such as Finance, Strategic Planning and General Management in some of the best known blue chip companies in Sri Lanka. He has been the Head of Finance before moving into Strategic Planning. He is the only Sri Lankan lecturer for Business Strategy to have actually headed a Strategic Planning Unit in not one but two of the largest diversified conglomerates in Sri Lanka. Today he is a Director of Kaizen Plus, an organization, that was jointly set up by him that specializes in Corporate Training, Management Consultancy, and Headhunting services. Besides his lecturing involvement in both professional and academic programmes (both at undergraduate and postgraduate level) he is also a very sought after corporate trainer and management consultant.

He is currently the Director Operations at Imperial College and specializes in lecturing Fundamentals of Financial Accounting and Fundamentals of Business Mathematics at the Certificate Level. His lecturing experience spans over 5 years, during which his motivation and commitment to students has made him a very popular lecturer. Further, his confidence and knowledge, combined with great enthusiasm for the subject has resulted in his success to date.

Being a popular lecturer, he was selected by the CIMA division to conduct ‘Train The Trainer’ (TTT) programmes in Jaffna.  Further, he is also a visiting lecturer at Christ University in Bangalore, India where he conducts intensive revision programmes for CIMA students at the Certificate Level.

Sivabaskaran has been at the forefront of Imperial College since its inception in 2002. He has played a vital role in its success to date. He began his stint at Imperial College as Operations manager, shortly after being promoted to Assistant General Manager. In 2004, he was appointed as the Director of Operations, where he was responsible for implementing several key projects. He was also greatly involved with business development and expansion of the college. He has extensively contributed to the success of the college.

An Associate Member of CIMA and a holder of a Management Special degree, Indika specializes in lecturing Organisational Management & Information Systems (P4), where his key strength lies in his corporate management experience, which he shares with his students, giving them a wider view of the subject. Indika is admired for the practical approach he adopts in order to make the subject interesting and easily comprehensible. His immeasurable background in senior management roles at home and abroad, in both HR and Marketing has resulted in a confident and winning style that has seen his popularity rise amongst students.

A senior member of the lecture panel at Imperial College, Indika’s lecturing experience is not limited to Sri Lanka alone. He is also a visiting lecturer at Christ University, Bangalore, India, where he conducts revision programmes for CIMA students at the Managerial Level.

Indika's corporate experience, spanning over 8 years has seen him though a successful career thus far. He began his career in the apparel industry, employed at One of South Asia's largest apparel manufacturer MAS Holdings, where Indika was involved with Operations. His dedication and commitment sought him a position in Vietnam within the group. During his 3 year stint overseas, Indika gained invaluable exposure which also led him to move into Human Resources within the MAS Group. He is currently employed as the Manager - Human resources ODEL (Pvt.) Ltd.

Gino, specialising in the Management Accounting pillar of CIMA counts for over 5 years of lecturing CIMA students in Performance Evaluation (P1) and Decision Management (P2). A CIMA Passed Finalist and a B.Sc. (Hons) degree holder from the University of Colombo, he is also a CFA level 3 candidate. His lectures aim to combine exam focus with clear explanation of topics, thereby ensuring that the students are well equipped to comprehensively tackle and pass their subjects. Gino also brings to his lectures practical experience and examples of best practice gained from several years work experience. He has consistently maintained a pass rate above Sri Lankan average and is admired among students for his effective and dynamic approach to the subjects.

In addition to excelling at studies, Gino has taken part in numerous quizzes, on several occasions being part of the winning team. He was also chosen as a participant for Sri Lanka's first ever management related reality TV programme, Pathbreakers.

Pursuing a career in finance, Gino began his vibrant career as a Business Analyst at BQu, a UK based company specialising in investment research. He is currently attached to Amba Research Lanka as a Financial Analyst.

Rajab a Passed Finalist of CIMA, and a holder of Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, currently reading fro his MBA, specialises in lecturing for the financial Management Pillar. A Prize Winner himself, Rajab possesses an undoubted ability to deliver the most complex subject matter in a very simple yet highly effective manner which contributes highly to his lecturing success over thee last 3 years. Rajab's strong hands on finance experience makes his lectures very popular amongst students. His extensive practical and theoretical knowledge ensures his students achieve the best results in their exams. 

Having begun his career at Expo Lanka Group as a Management Trainee - Finance several years ago, Rajab gained valuable exposure in finance, having carried out broad financial and management accounting activities whilst presenting several business and corporate strategies at the board level. His next assignment was at Asia Capital Ltd, where he served as a Senior Investment Analyst. Rajab is currently the Finance Manager at Aitken Spence Power.

 

Shazil, an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, Associate Member of  the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and an Associate Member of Chartered Institute of Marketing, specialises in lecturing Financial Accounting to Certificate Level Students.

Shazil has been lecturing accounting to students for the last 9 years and has a reputation as an extremely interesting and knowledgeable tutor who has the ability to combine real world experience with the demands of professional exams. He is committed to developing firm accounting foundations in his students through a practical and problem solving approach.

His professional career counts for over 7 years of broad industrial and service sector experience, backed by multidisciplinary capabilities in Finance, Marketing, Human Resources,  IT and Operations. Having started his career at Ernst & Young, he steadily rose up the corporate ladder and held the positions of senior accountant at  Ernst & Young and Brandix. His next assignment was at Mountain Hawk Express (Licensee of Federal Express Corporaion) where he held the position of FInance Manager. He is currently employed at Bharti Airtel Lanka (Private) Limited as the Manager Channel Accounting.

He has also initiated and successfully conducted a series of work shops on the theme "Finance for Non-Finance Persons" mainly targeting managers of a multinational company.

 

A Passed Finalist of CIMA and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level 1 Candidate, Usama specialises in lecturing Risk & Control Strategy (P3) at the Strategic Level. His success over 3 years of teaching this subject has built up an unrivalled reputation. Usama also brings to his lectures practical experience and examples of best practices gained from several years work experience in the field. He has an ability to add practicality to theory in order to make the subject matter easily understood, hence making him a much sought after lecturer.

Usama commenced his professional career 4 years ago as an Accounts Trainee - External Audit Division at KPMG Ford, Rhodes, Thornton & Co. Within a few years his dedication and commitment saw him rise to his present position of Analyst - Financial Advisory Services within the same company. Usama's corporate experience in Valuation and Transaction greatly contributes to his popularity.

Chatura a multi qualified individual sepcialises in lecturing certificate level students. A holder of a Bachelor of Business Management (Accountancy) Special degree, he is also a Member of CIMA, A Member of Certified Management Accounts Institute in Sri Lanka, and a Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute in USA. Currently he is reading for his MBA at the University of Colombo.

Chatura has been lecturing certificate level students for the last 3 1/2 years and has a reputation as an extremely interesting and knowledgeable lecturer who combines real world experience with the demands of professional exams. His teaching experience coupled with excellent communication skills and an approachable personality makes the learning process valuable and interesting.
